Of Arranged Marriages

The day started out good. Well as good as it can get. Jino was woke up on time, got to school on time, did everything he was supposed to. But the gods just wouldn’t leave him alone. No, they just had to make everything end horribly.

-Flashback-

He took his shoes off and left them by the door. “I’m home!” he yelled out, running up the stairs to his room.

“Yah, come here now!” his dad yelled out. He slumped forward and made his way back down the stairs. ‘What is it this time?’ he thought to himself, running his fingers through his hair. He froze when he saw one of his seniors from the university sitting in front of his father, sitting perfectly still.

“W-what is-“He turned to his father in confusion. His father smiled happily, telling him to sit and patting his back happily. “Appa, why is he here?” he asked. His father only smiled.

“Jinho, you know Cho Kyuhyun right? Anyway, I talked to his dad here and we’ve decided something that will help us get through this debt!” His father said, trailing off. Jino could only stare at him blankly.

Cho Kyuhyun was well known around campus. His looks were one of his best features but people were attracted to his voice when he sang. He never attempted to talk to him. He only watched him from afar whenever they had music class together.

“Yah! Are you listening to me?!” his father yelled, snapping him out of his thoughts. He blushed darkly and shook his head. Kyuhyun had looked at him at that moment and his breathe hitched. “You two are going to marry each other!” his father said and he felt all color drain from his face.

“M-m-marry? B-but appa, wh-“his father cut him off, saying how they needed to do this in order to seal the deal.

So here he was, packing his things to get ready to move into Cho Kyuhyun’s apartment. He silently cursed his father and the gods in his head. He looked around his room and sighed, zipping the suitcase close.

“You should hurry. I don’t have all day to wait for you.” A voice said behind him, causing him to jump. He glared at the person, throwing the suitcase down on the floor.

“I don’t care.” He mumbled, grabbing an empty box. He put pictures of his friends and family in the box along with a few of his games. He turned to look at the other. “Did you even try to rebel when this idea came about, Kyuhyun-sshi?”

The elder shook his head and helped him pack. “There was no point. Now shut up and finish before I throw you and whatever is packed in the car.”

Jino huffed and angrily threw the rest of his things into empty boxes, taping them shut and stacking them by the door. He wiped his forehead and turned toward the empty room, frowning. “All done…” he mumbled.

Kyuhyun grabbed the boxes one by one and shoved them in his car, not really caring whether he was careful or not. “YAH! LET’S GO!” he yelled when he was done.

Jino nodded and grabbed his jacket. He turned away from the room and walked down the stairs slowly. ‘I’m going to miss everything…I can’t believe appa is making me do this because of a debt.’ He thought to himself as he reached the bottom of the steps. He put his shoes on and turned to the hall.

“I’m leaving now, dad! I’ll call you when we get there!” he yelled out, shutting the door behind him. Kyuhyun was leaning against the hood of his car, tapping his foot impatiently.

“Took you long enough. Look, I know this is going to take some getting used to but it’ll all work out in the end.” He said, pulling him towards the car and opening the door for him.

Jino looked at him in confusion before climbing in. Kyuhyun shut the door once he was settled and went to the other side. He got into the driver’s seat and turned to look at him. “Cho Jinho, right? We have music class together.” He said, more to himself than the other.

“I can’t believe this is happening.” he mumbled, face palming himself. Kyuhyun let out a small chuckle and began to start the car.

“You’ll survive, kid. I’m not gonna be that bad of a husband.” He said smugly. Jino snorted and leaned his forehead against the window.

His eyes widened when he realized what the other said. He turned to him, his face flushed. “Wait husband?! What does that make me? The wife?!”

Kyuhyun chuckled again, not even turning to look at him. “Of course. What else would you be?” he said, stopping at a red light. He turned to look at him and caressed his cheek gently. “You’re kind of cute.” He said, smirking.

Jino blushed and looked away from him, instead focusing on playing with a loose thread on his shirt. He sighed. ‘This is only the beginning.’
