MY NAME IS RAOUL DUKE

...is what I told the artists' alley head honcho after I stumbled off the train around Stupid O' Clock in the morning, bags in tow and douchebag sunglasses in place.

Luckily she thought that was hilarious and didn't throw me out on the spot, even when it turned out that almost everyone tabling in artists' alley completely forgot to register.

How sad I have no pictures aaaa

So I shared a table with astrokittie and payapayapapaya , one of which (whom??? who??) was dressed as the most adorable Gym!Keef and the other of which was dressed as an equally adorable Juliet from "Lollipop Chainsaw"--complete with zombiesaw. Such talented craftspeople! D :

I actually got lost before artists' alley opened, as the Mariott is an airport hotel catering specifically to businessmen. I didn't see anything weird, which worried me because I had stupidly paid to take a cab from the train station to the place.

Then an elevator door dinged open, revealing five young men in thong bikinis with bowties. "Oh thank god," I thought, "I'm in the right place."

Multiple rapidfire shoutouts to Tog (best Ivan Karalin/Batman forever and always) and Chira and Julie, Astro's awesome friends who put up with my awkwardness and drunk shenanigans afterwords, as well as the "D and D Twins", who for some reason I wound up talking about the live action Sailor Moon show with. Jin/Gin/Geen/Gene/bro who I always run into when you're doing cosplay, I'll see you at the next con! And maybe next time I'll scrape that New Getter Hayato Jin costume together and no one but you and me will know who the fuck I'm dressed up as.

Props to steam_pilot, who always gives me ALL THE POSTCARDS and talked with me about books and printing and various comicking things. Also, I swear that I really wasn't dressed up as Razor Ramon. Really. I just happen to dress like Hard Gay occasionally.

vespabee and murada, your Bonny and Teeger are the cutest hurrrgh~

I'd like to apologize to shirono for quite possibly freaking her the hell out with my lurching, very awkward greeting. Ditto to kiwimangoodness, whose table I couldn't find AGAIN and for being a mysterious weirdo when you did come over to visit. D :

stud_monkey you are a boss and I wish I could have hung out with the rest of the Basara bros but alas I was chained to my table. Thank you so much for the pins and the free drawings and jeezus you don't have to buy things I give to you for free! Speaking of Basara, I know you were there somewhere, yukari_kaiba, but I couldn't find you. I'll see you next time!

Surprisingly, this con was one of the chillest I have been to. Lots of polite people, very little amounts of NOPE, and I managed to break even on my half of the table on the one day I worked there. Not bad at all. Next time I'm going to have to get all the days off and crouch in someone's hotel room. The commute from my apartment to Millbrae is killer, especially after several SKY HIGH! SHOTS, AND SHOTS AGAIN! rounds.

I also showed astrokittie and bros this show:

It was quickly renamed

by Tog and Astro. Iluism, guys. I'll teach you the Den-O drinking game next con.
