So guys, I'm totally done with this semester, huzzah! It's going to be good goin' home and stuff, as well as getting to FINALLY work on some personal stuff.
It's getting colder here--arrrgh!--so it's going to be verrrrrrry pleasant to go back home where it's nice and warm.
Mild spoiler alert ahead, derp
I haven't talked about Double or Shinkenger lately, although it was mostly due to the fact that I had finals up the wazoo and OH MY GOD AGITO *___*
I'm on episode 24 of Agito, and G3X is a sexy mofo. Also,
gekidasa , I did see that Hikawa-in-the-weight-room scene.
>> dat'shawt.
Ozawa is now one of my favorite characters in KR. She's incredibly smart, somewhat stubborn, but she is extremely perceptive and caring. Plus, she wrote all of G3X's coding when she was drunk. AWESOME.
Oh, right, the newer stuff. >> That's what I meant to talk about.
First of all, shit's starting to go down hard in Shinkenger, and the past few eps have been great. The samurai are gearing up for the final battle, now, and Takeru's finally realizing that he's come to treasure his vassals. Dayuu and Dokoku get some *great* exposition in terms of their characters, and it looks like the final showdown might be a three on three battle--four if you count poor Juuzo, who's been kind of ignored, minus the "I WILL HAVE MY WAY WITH YOU--I MEAN I WILL BE YOUR RIVAL FOREVER, RED" thing. I can't wait to see how the final battle will play out--but at the same time, it'll be sad to see them leave. ;A;
D-D-D-Decade movie in the Double OP! I already spoiled myself on the new Decade and Double films thanks to igadevil, but reading it makes me just more excited to actually see it. And yey, we get to see Tackle kick some ass in the little snippet that was in Double's OP!
Double tends to fluctuate between good and "eh". This arc was in the good catagory, thank goodness. I was actually paying attention this time, and had actually been looking forward to seeing what happened and whodunnit. They were a little bit more clever with the "ACTUALLY IT'S THIS PERSON" reveal, but the really good bits of this episode were the fight scenes, Wakana being awesome, and this:
disregard Phillip's BRIGHT PINK SWEATERDRESS and GIRLY GREY SHIRT >>
Phillip's actor did the interaction scenes between Wakana and Phillip pretty well. Y'know when the oddball awkward geeky kid in middle school develops a massive crush on a classmate? Yeah, that's the feeling I got from this. Poor kid is SO awkward.
Meanwhile Sho the awesome ho is going "PHILLIP, STOP BEING A GODDAMN SCHOOLGIRL" and drinking his coffee like a man while Phillip gazes into the distance and goes siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
The dynamics between Shotaro and his attempt to live up to his mentor's standards, Phillip and his issues with juggling work and whatever-the-hell-these-new-complicated-feelings-are-about-his-past-and-possibly-Wakana; along with the Sonozaki Family's issues, could end up being pretty interesting. The "Healing Princess in Trouble" eps seemed the most mystery-novel-noir-like to me, because it successfully combined action, mystery, and a tiny bit of darkness (That dressing-room murder, right? That's new for Double in terms of maturity).
I'm looking forward to the new ep, mostly because the Kaiju has FUCKING SKULL CANNONS FOR HANDS AND RIDES A BIKE. I'm not as excited for Double as I was for Decade, which I felt like I HAD to watch right as it came out, but we'll see if Double wins me over.
I can't download Agito fast enough, on the other hand. D : Gatling gun + G3X = HAWT.
