Things I liked about episode two:
1. Villain salesman's incredibly naked nakedness in his naked scene.
2. Wakana. I think she's getting to be my favorite out of the entire Dopanto family.
3. T-REX KAJIN FUCK YEAH
4. Phillip basically telling Shotaro "I told you so" throughout the entire episode.
5. HEAT MEMORY. HADOOOOOOKEEEEENNNNNNN.
Things I didn't like about episode two:
1. The T-Rex kaijin, oh fuck no. I think Toei ran out of budget, which means that the CGI for the T-Rex's finaru formu was really, really, really, really shitty. When I was watching the fight scenes, I was hoping that the T-Rex Dopanto would just stay the person in the suit. Yeah, concrete/metal eating powers were cool, but not when the models were so bad. ;A;
2. Akiko's screaming. Girl you know ilu, but for the love of god, I had to turn down the volume on my computer just to get through the battle. And she's shrieking nonstop throughout the entire thing. The ENTIRE thing.
3. It's great that you got a hold of some Osakan comedians for this season, Toei, but mushroom head guy isn't making me laugh yet.
Two was a bit less epic then one, but of course, the first episode has to be the hook for the beginning. I'm also noticing the tone/stylistic differences between this and the other seasons of KR. Granted, every season of KR is different from each other, but I get the feeling that this season is starting to come off as more "live-action manga-like" when compared to the others.
I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but granted, it's understandable when the writer of the show wrote this
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beet_the_Vandel_Buster. The progression of the story feels like how a typical shonen manga would unfold. Maybe it's just the fact that I've read so much manga over the course of my nerd life that I've been calling things way ahead of when the show decides to reveal them. orz.
MOVING ON:
Things I liked about Episode 3:
1. Akiko screeching less.
2. Yet another famous comedian in another role, and she is awesome here.
3. METARUUU MEEEMORIIEEEEEEEE
4. Philip's fanboying over Wakana's alter ego as a cheerful sunshiny DJ (although secretly she hates EVERYONE)
5. HELLO POLICE BUDDY OF SHOTARO'S. I MISSED YOU LIKE WHOA.
6. Shotaro's fear of dogs. oloololol.
Things I disliked about Episode 3:
1. Money Kaiju. : / I could have accepted it if his costume wasn't so obviously soft and puffy. The fact that his main attack is Pay Day, however, makes up for it. orz pokemon.
2.The sleuthing scenes aren't as interesting as the fighting scenes, and that's a shame, because I like mystery sleuthing things. I think the fact that they make it a bit too obvious in this one kind of made me want to go "ALRIGHT ALREADY WE KNOW IT'S THAT BUS ROUTE".
I'm actually amazed they're bringing up Phillip's past super early. Apparently, the memories of his family have started resurfacing, which not only makes it hard for him and Shotaro to fight as a team, but makes him question himself.
Granted, the first time it happened, Phillip managed to brush it off, but the second time when the trigger word was mentioned, he had an outside-of-body freakout incident. D : Oh noes.
That rules out the theory that he might be a robot, unless Toei decides to pull a mindfuck a la Ghost in the Shell and go "THOSE MEMORIES ARE IMPLANTED AND FAAAAAALLLLSE."
The way the episode kind of ended was awkward in my opinion. Akiko sneaks into the evil casino, looks around--BOOM EPISDODE END. We'll see how the next one is.
In short, episode two was kinda meh, while three made up for it slightly but was still kind of meh. I'm still interested, though, because I know that somewhere along the line something unpredictable and awesome will happen...I hope.
I didn't check to see if 30 was up yet, orz. I'll watch it later tonight.
THOUGHTS ON YAOI EPISODES 28 AND 29:
I totally skipped the "shinkengers turn into things" episode on accident, so I missed SuperShinkenGreen. SADTIMES. Genta gets to star in his own ep for once, and it's about him getting over his phobia of sushi. Green cheerfully takes it upon himself to be the one who helps cure Genta's phobia, which leads to the rest of the team trying to get over things they dislike. Mako and Kotoha manage to eat the food they dislike the most, Takeru tries to defeat his fear of haunted houses but FAILS (oh, tono, wai so moe XD), and Ryuunosuke...stares down a cactus while everyone else ignores him.
Luckily Gold manages to recover, creating a motherfucking robo-paper lantern that can become big and shoot disks out of its...crotch. Okay. We officially have the Zuuban of the show, now, as it doubles as a weapon and a robothing. Unlike Zuuban, it can talk, and I find its investigator's dialect really endearing. : D
ALSO, NEW VILLAIN NEW VILLAIN NEW VILLAIN. The new general seems to be taking Dayuu's place on the boat, or rather, he's joining forces with big bad as well. * scritches head *. New villain brings along his own army, and the Monster of the Week he brought was FUCKING AWESOME.
Episode 29 starts with Genta and his paper lantern buddy getting into a spat and refusing to talk to each other. Mako goes to help patch things up between them while papter lantern guy runs around town looking for a new job. Derp.
It was actually kind of nice to see Genta's serious/regular dude side again whenever he was talking to Mako. Random observation orz.
Also I don't know if Mako hugging the paper lantern was either adorable or guffawspit worthy. Eh well.
In other news, man am I busy this semester. Hargh.
