Just a few things that have been bothering me:
Living outside North America for a bit has forced me to view our (American) society under a European microscope.
For a "progressive" society, the U.S. is so far behind in health care, in gay rights (Spain's a very Catholic country, yet gay marriage is legal), in censorship. It's disgusting.
We really are too big a country to accomplish very much. There's no homogenous idealology, no common ground. Our politics never balance, but rather take on the form of a pendulum, swinging from the metaphorical (and political) right to left to right to left.
And what can I do, but sit back and watch the tedious, stagnant puddle that is our country until the next Civil War
