The other day my parents came over to meet my host family. It was so surreal. I translated Spanish idioms that didn't make sense to my father. Dad and I translated everything for my mother. Anything my mother said my dad translated to Spanish for my host mother.
Somehow we all pieced together a conversation... about Obama, church, global warming... the usual bullshit that plagues everyday coversation. But it was in Spain.
I'm still a little amazed.
