[ Annnnd here's a familiar voice acting like nothing has changed. There's red eyes and white hair observing the video. :3 Hi. ]
... Perhaps I was wrong to at first assume I was the only one with that sort of ability here.
[ As it were, those unnaturally red eyes--and the matching red ball of light--are on you, Cheria. Entertain him. ] Personally, I can cast any spell that is previously learned. However, it's quite difficult to do anything of the sort when one feels as tired as this, don't you think...?
[We meet again, Sir Pessimist. We meet again. It's clear from her expression she's not too happy to speak with him again, but by now she's dimmed down somewhat, so she'll keep up her polite manner. Naoya'd better watch his step, though.]
That's right. In order to use magic, I need to concentrate. Such a thing is hard to do when casting seems to drain me even further.
Is healing magic rare in your world as well, then?
[ Well... he never claimed to be an optimist. Call him a REALIST. ]
Yes, it does seem to have a negative effect on the human body's natural soul resilience... I can already observe the variables involved, but restoration rates aren't returning as they should, even though I have the ability to cut cast and effort in half automatically.
[ He seems to be thinking. ] The only anomaly I've come across that might help this is... that coral, the Lamufao. It gives off an odd energy burst. It's... possible it may be poisoned, or a hallucinogenic plant.
[ All that likely went over your head, but it made sense to him. ] Ah, it's quite rare. I had to invent a medium that would allow me to summon demons as well as harness every possible spell and skill they knew. Unfortunately, I cannot connect to my server, so I cannot test to see if the summon program is working.
[Most of that did go over her head, actually. All she gathered is that the Lamufao might help her get more energy for her magic, but it could just as well be dangerous to attempt that. She doesn't know what a "server" is, either. There's one thing in particular that definitely stood out to her, though.]
Tsk, tsk... you sound so unhappy about it. You act like it's odd. Hardly. Demons are useful servants, after all, and they do make excellent defensive shields.
[ He's not even nice to his demons, is he? ] Besides, angels are also demons, you know. Not that I would ever wish to summon one, the rotting symbols of a corrupt, old ideal that they are.
That's... How is it that the demons allow themselves to be treated as servants? If angels are included too, I wouldn't think they are below humans or have any reason to fear us.
That depends on the Tamer. The demon is there to achieve a means to an end--old world pacts were useless, so I did away with them. Besides, they freely rent their skills out to be used for the currency of the Netherworld--Macca.
[ His expression... hardens. ] Only some angels. While all should be considered and are, technically demons... there are also those that work for Him. They are the ones that slaughter without heed or mercy, after all. If God says humankind should be tested, then they obey.
Those angels do not possess free will. Nor a conscience, I am sure...
[ Yes, Naoya: you care about people, too. ... Like hell. Your conscience has been gone for far too long regarding your own deeds. ]
Indeed he does. A God who does not help his people, ignores their pleas... eventually, humanity is going to revolt. "Why doesn't he help us?" "Why won't he hear us?" "Why does he keep doing these terrible things to me...?"
[ Definitely not the entire truth, but that was the gist of it. Naoya had a hand in his current incident, however, but there isn't an angel around to stop him NOW, is there? He just smiles, looking for all the world unperturbed, resting his head on his hand. ]
Two things rot from the inside, and wood is one of them. ... The other is a hierarchy. You can't clean something that has festered for as long as He has. All traces of the previous problem...
[ And the smile does not reach his eyes. It's not... sane, at all. ] ... must be removed from the playing field before the game is begun anew.
... All of them. You can't leave one single piece of the old order left...
[ His entire posture tightens. ] Humanity is quite capable of working fine on it's own, after all. Why would it need something as corrupt as God to make our lives harder than they already are?
[ Naoya just... smirks, an odd, unreadable oldness about his eyes. ]
God is not the end-all you believe he is, child.
[ Shifting. ] ... Demons include gods, after all. They are of an equal power. It may seem contrary, but it's simply harnessing the help of them to do good, in the end. Besides, I doubt the future king of demons would let humanity be touched by either side, after all. He's so dedicated...
[ Just chuckles at that. Oh, Keiji... Naoya didn't care for humanity. But his cousin could do what he wanted, after all, he had managed to convince him his word was the right one (which it was, of course). ]
[By now, she's definitely starting to suspect that Naoya is either pulling her leg or just completely insane. Either way, she'll need to know one thing for certain.]

Your God sends angels to attack mankind? That's horrible! I would never worship a being like that.

Erased. Deleted. Destroyed. Wiped clean.
[ ... Now those red eyes are starting to make sense, aren't they, Cheria? Let's hope you guess his involvement correctly... ]

You would dare turn against your own God? [Aren't gods supposed to be all-powerful?]
