It's been aruged that the concept of a hiphop culture is an invention of the media. The dress the walk the talk even the elements are all there own thing by them self but the media needs a way to present these new things to the public in a way that makes sence, so hiphop culture is thus created.example:graffiti, graffiti came about in the 1970s in new york.Mainly the child of ageing hippies and later by the tennagers of the bronxs and queens. In the beging there was no direct corrilation between graffiti and hiphop the two had very little to do with each other except that it seemed to take rise around the same time as rap and or hip hop. Then the movie wildstyle came out.wildstyle was the story of two young graffiti(element 1) heads one who is hired to do a mural for a hiphop(element 2,3) concert. The setting early 80's when it was just fashinable to wear adidas and running suits. The directer took break danceing graffitti mc/dj and combined them into one culture for the sake of his story .....................im sorry i forgot were i was going with this and now that i think about it, the whole idea dosen't really make sence.I suppose each asspect of hiphop culture demends on each other.though its true that each has very diffrent beggings (breaking=form of african martial arts from angola) yet they have slowly developed ......o never mind ...yea hiphop
but you should still see wildstyle if you can, its a hiphop cult classic and a must see.
