MONSTER JAM 2006
as some of you may now know, i am totally 105% batshit crazy about monster trucks.
that and my banjo are the only two true holdovers from my good-ol-boy father's upbringing that really stuck to me. like mud. blood in the mud. there will be. anyway...
for christmas i like to take my friends to the biggest show in georgia all year- january's superbowl of motorsports. it is fun for me to have them, and most people leave the show very angry at me when i respond "next year, this time" to the question "when do we get to go again?"
it is between 3 and 4 hours of monster truck, demolition derby, hilariously staged four-wheeler racing (complete with fist fights), and beer-drinking olde-fashioned good-times. i would love to buy the tickets for everybody, but i like to sit in the "holy shit, that loose monster truck tire is coming right at us" section where tickets are a bit more expensive. what i tend to do is cover a third of the ticket cost, so we all sit in the grade-a section for the price of grade-b tickets.
this year, instead of doing personal invitations, i am holding open qualifying for MONSTER JAM 2006.
it is on january 14th at 7:30 in atlanta at the georgia dome. if you can come, get me $20 by december 14th.
