I'll leave some comments on some of the things listed, Tim me boyo:
1. I liked the Sandman character in this film. Very sympathetic, just like in the comic books. Only thing diff was that it's his mother that's ill, not his daughter (nitpicking), but still a pretty tragic character.
2. I agree Venom was underused a bit. I mean, they tried to cram so much into a 2+ hour film that they left some holes gaping. That being said, Topher Grace was an ass in this movie and he made Venom/Brock work. And I know that they tweaked things a bit, but it was kinda hard to re-create how Spidey got the symbiote in the Secret Wars (essentially going to a vending machine like device and winding up with the suit/symbiote). Don't forget, when Venom first appears, he is consumed with the total destruction of Spider Man. After a few more appearances we get to see the warped justice that Brock does possess and incorporates into Venom.
9. J.K. Simmons was great again as Jameson. Maybe it's the uncanny resemblence to J.J., but he's always been good and he was especially good here. If they do have a 4th movie, I can see how he could be used (see below). Bruce Campbell's had cameos in the first two films, but Raimi gave him a lot more camera time in this one, not that there's a problem with that. The crowd was rolling with his maitre'd scene (just like they were when J.J. was on).
10. They did have enough material for two films, but I think that's because a lot of them thought that this would be the last Spidey film and they tried to cater to as much of both the comic and film audience in packing too much into this. If they do go with the 4th movie, I can see the villain not being Rhino, but the Scorpion instead. Don't forget, J.J. hires Mac Gargan to take down Spidey by paying for his experiment and subsequent technology for the suit. Scorpion's another pretty classic villain. I can also see the Chameleon in there too as a secondary behind-the-scenes villain. Rhino's a pretty classic Spidey villain, but Scorpion, Chameleon, and Electro are a little up there ahead of Rhino in terms of the iconic Spidey villains next to the Goblin, Ock, and Venom.
And yes, Venom never says 'I', but anyone outside of the comic fandom wouldn't know why Venom address himself/itself as 'we'.
2- I was not expecting the 'Lethal Protector' version of Venom, just most use of the character. More stuff with the symbiote on him, maybe something more about him nullifying the Spider-Sense. Just more.
9- J.K. Simons rocked.
10 - The problem now is, unless they bring Venom back, they are stuck to shitty villains. Scorpion kinda sucks, Rhino does suck, Chameleon and Electro are both awful. About their best choice is the Lizard, and could they really make a movie based around him? They used too much in this movie.
