Blogging vs. journaling

I have been thinking about returning to the blogosphere for awhile now, but haven't had the time to devote to it. That will change soon. The question is where to resume blogging at? I am operating under the assumption that people who blog want their content to be consumed by others. Would I blog if I knew no one would read what I write? I could just write in my journal in that case. The difference is the nature of the content - there are things I write about in my journal that I wouldn't write about publicly.

I don't know if Livejournal is the platform to continue to use, as I'm sure there are others. Something to think about.
