Historically she's hopped on particular bandwagons to her advantage, but Hard Candy isn't pushing any envelopes.

I vote option number 2, but I don't think she has much time left before option number 1 might become a concern. As Samantha says "no one wants to fuck grandma's pussy"...

I think she does re-invent herself a lot and she is not "a dreadful washed up old cow" but I have had a difficult time finding her material engaging and interesting since "Ray of Light." "Confessions..." grew on me, but I realized i had to listen to the entire album through, because it's almost like a little journey of dance music. Of course, I also had to grow to appreciate dance music.

This last album... I have only heard a few cuts and it seems like she's the background. Ugly Betty couldn't even use a track to close out this season's finale.

Bleh. It's time for her to realize her irrelevance and gracefully settle into it and write her children's books or whatever.
