So, everybody likes Suffocation, Nas & Biggie, right? Here are some similar treats with a few stupid sentences to convince you.

Morpheus Descends - Ritual of Infinity (1992)

This is probably one of the heaviest albums I've heard. Not Eyehategod or Pantera heavy - everything about this record, from the production to the songwriting, is all-enveloping and bone-crushing. Speed-picked riffs flow in and out, creating a huge space that is suddenly filled with percussive bludgeonment. Yes.

Incantation - Onward to Golgotha (1992)

Deceptively simple riffs build complex structures and internal rhythms. This has some of the same heaviness as Ritual of Infinity, but the more percussive parts flow into place rather than hitting like an Urlacher.

Scientifik - Criminal (1994)

A classic "slipped through the cracks" East Coast hip-hop album. First of all, the production on this album is ridiculous. Ed OG, Buckwild, RZA, & Diamond D kill it with slightly haunting jazzy beats. This doesn't have the same emotional power as Illmatic or Ready to Die, but it's a cohesive work and Scientifik is clever and charismatic. "Yo kid, I got the nicks and the dimes. Still a herb dealer even though I kicks rhymes."

O.C. - Word...Life (1994)

Some real lyrical hip-hop and storytelling. Listen close, some of this shit hits pretty hard.

Smif-N-Wessun - Dah Shinin' (1995)

Gritty and raw. Beatminerz at their finest. Best shit from the Boot Camp Clik, followed closely by Black Moon Enta da Stage.
