The DMV is retarded. And they are thieves.
I had misplaced the title for my car. I was planning to register it here in Illinois, so I requested a replacement copy of my title and sent in the fee to the CA DMV. Everything under control.
A letter comes for me this weekend, from the DMV. My title? No. A notice that my registration is going to expire, I need to get a smog check, and need to pay the registration fee. And they included the paperwork I had sent in requesting my title. But not the check I sent with it.
So, I now have a car that will no longer be registered in a few days, I have my request for the title back but nothing done about it, and my $16 was stolen by the state of CA. Bastards.
