So the next step in a big project at work was to start a process running. I've done that, and there is nothing else critical to be done, so I thought it would be ok to do an update while monitoring the process.
Work is going amazingly well. The folks here seem very appreciative. I seem to be very helpful. What more could one ask for? I'm getting back onto my walking schedule, which is awesome! My diet has included a lot of eating out lately, it makes it tough to keep up the weight loss. I think we're back on track though. Embarrassingly enough, I found a nice website to track exercise and diet at www.glamour.com that I like. Its mostly for women, but I guess its ok for me to use it too. hehe. I was surprise to find out that when my coworker, who is kinda thin, walks with me, she burns about 180 calories. In the same walk, I burn 450 calories. That makes me want to really exercise a lot!
Life continues to be overwhelmingly perfect. We ran up to the PA Grand Canyon with Marlin and Ebeth(If you are kind to me, there may be a picture post later!) where we went to the west rim and had an AWESOME time. First though, we went to lunch at the Wellsboro diner. Excellent food and a lovely time. The weather was perfect, just about 70 degrees with no humidity.
As you stood on the top of the canyon wall, you were uplifted with a warm thermal coming up from the bottom. There were a lot of buzzards playing in in the thermals, which were fun to watch. We then came home the "back way" which basically meant climbing and going down a mountain on some nice dirt roads. Lots of shade and coolness and good stuff like that. A couple highlights -- We saw orange mushrooms and traveled down Deadman's Hallow (that's pronounced Holler, for those of you not from around here :)
We stopped at the Pine Creek State park and then at Woolrich (Wool & clothing store) on the way home. We went to the Restless Oaks to celebrate my first paycheck. Rusty had his first chicken and waffles, which he reported as being "Good, but nothing to write home about." I don't know what to do with him, so I guess I'll keep him forever.
Speaking of Rusty, he has a temp position that sounds really good for him, plus it pays good money. Our financial state has a light at the end of the tunnel. He's going to be able to go to Disney, but probably won't have time over Christmas break like I will. We'll still try to find a way to go to North Carolina though.
I'm going to work a half hour late each day this week so I can leave a little early to go to Aminah and Touhan's wedding in Maryland. I think its going to be a great weekend.
Wahoo!
