My wife took this picture of our son in a pumpkin patch this week. While looking at the picture later, she started laughing, saying how much Baby Wright looked like Snoopy in "It's the Great Pumpkin".
I dunno' you be the judge...
In comic-related news, I'm glad to say
Todd and Penguin is back today. While I took last week off to get my syndication package ready, turns out that my workload seems to expand to fill any void of time. In other words, I didn't finish yet. As for Best Kids Show Ever, I will update that on Thursday this week, due to a later work schedule tonight. Thanks to everyone who has written about that comic. I'm thrilled to see so many people are enjoying it.
Speaking of Charles Schulz, I was watching the PBS special on him last night. I only saw part of it, but I did TIVO it. Some of the things that his family said about him though, I really connected with -- his being off in his own world, retreating, liking to keep people distant, yet at the same time, he wanted to keep them around. Perhaps that's why I always felt such a connection to his work. Of course, while some people are surprised that Good ol' Sparky might have been Sad ol' Sparky, I am not at all surprised. I think depression and creativity more often than not, go hand in hand. Some of my best stuff (mostly writing) has been inspired by my darkest times.
In non-comic related news, seems Clive Barker has a new book out. While it's not the books I'm waiting for, (either the third book of The Art or the Imajica or Sacrament sequels) I'm looking forward to reading it.
I usually loathe opportunities to meet famous people. You just know they aren't into it, it's a promotional tour, and most of the people they're gonna' meet are going to be annoying, idiotic, or just plain rude. Or, they are just going to be a total tool, so I hate to meet people whose work I admire. (I did get to interview Queensryche's Geoff Tate, and he was pretty laid back and down to earth, so that went well) However, if I get a chance to meet or interview Clive Barker, I will definitely jump at it.
Barker was on Craig Ferguson last night and his voice sounded AWFUL! Ferguson didn't mention it at all, which leads me to wonder if it might be something more than a cold? Usually when a guest is sick, the host will ask or joke about it. Not one word on Barker's voice ailment.
I hope nothing is wrong.
