Fitter, Happier, More Productive
Yesterday Tobi, one of my roomates, took me, Elizabeth and Kendall on a boat on the river. Despite a little rain at first, it was a beautiful day :).
I also am very serious about marrying someone from Europe. I want my kids to be bilingual, cute, and german. Thats kindof a ridiculous aspiration, Im aware.
I'm trying my hardest to complete as much of this paper as quickly as possible --- 20 page assignment for my EU governance class. Today I woke up showered and worked from 11:30-6, completing around 7 pages. I am, however, not as happy as I should be about that since these 7 pages are covering material I already researched for a presentation. The next pages are the new information = hard stuff, since I need to research the "devolution" that occurred in the UK and how this shows a governance trend and how it relates to EU environmental policy. Yeah, yuck.
However, it gives me something to do. I feel like my brain hasnt been doing real work forever ---- although I heard somewhere that learning/speaking a foreign language uses 25% of your brain??? I, however, prefer writing papers and researching to sucking at German.
Yeah, i said it, sucking. I feel real crappy about my language abilities lately. I really wish I had found more german friends (and yes, a german boyfriend) ... that would have really helped my german a lot.
In an attempt to break away from the monotony of research/writing today, I got my stuff together to go to the last volleyball practice. I got all the way there (taking a bus) , and realized that I forgot my gym shoes and by the time I went back to my apartment and then back again, I would be over 20 minutes late.
That was a real bummer.
So, instead, I cleaned my room. Its like .... uh, really ready for me to move out and I dont like it. Im sick of moving, I want a home :( .
Today I also researched Aupair (nanny) jobs in Berlin for next summer.
Things I didn't like before I came to Germany, but I like now:
1. Tea
2. Coffee
3. Honey
4. Peppers
5. Mustard
6. Avocado
7. Yogurt
8. Cheesecake (although it is different here)
9. Raw Tomatoes
10. Tequila
Why is this? Maybe Im more open minded here??? Keine Ahnung ...
