"The Perfect Friendship" and a Prince Charming?
Prince Charming. Known as a fictional character and young girls dream that one day, they will have one of their own.
At a tender age, I was introduced to such a concept. Sure, there were boys but nobody like him. I will not disclose his name but this mere boy turned my dark and dreary world upside down. Having sworn off the male species forever, he had the courage to approach me by email about a poem that had been posted on a public profile. Never imagining that anything could develop from the simple message that read; "Who broke your heart", an answer was formed on my behalf. What seemed like an unimportant conversation, transformed into a strange friendship. I was thirteen when this friendship started to blossom, and as the years went on the relationship has only gotten stronger, more important and harder to describe. In the first month or so of our closely intertwined friendship something more come about. Emotions more than just of the platonic variety stirred and two years of a beautiful and complicated connection was formed. In more ways then one we grew up together, we knew each others lives better then we knew our own.
To outsiders, this was the perfect relationship. Except we were three thousand miles apart from each other. In the end, the ache of not having the other close was too hard to bare. Ending what seemed like the "perfect" relationship isn't as simple as it would seem. After forming a tight bond that no words can describe there had to be something there to fill the void. To this day our friendship is in no question special or unimportant. Life has in it's own way, brought us closer. Now we see each other in different lights, and still continue to accept each other as we change and grow. This in itself is "the perfect friendship".
Prince Charming, may not be real but in many ways this man has been my prince charming. Some friendships are meant to last forever.
