Brave and GO
I finally got around to seeing Brave this weekend, and I was rather impressed! It was a visually beautiful movie, and although the ads and toys they put out spoiled a good amount of the movie there was still a nice amount left unspoiled. I saw a lot of my own mother in the queen (the good of her, mind you :P), and I guess I related a lot. And yes, I cried at the end. Though, I must admit, I was kind of bothered by all the...I don't know, random slapstick that seemed to be in parts of it? Pixar's pretty good about putting in humor and making it pertain to the story (see Up and Monsters, Inc) but it seemed to be a bit thick this time. I was also kind of wondering why they didn't make the males...I don't know, more 3-dimensional? I understand that the focus was on Merida and her mother, buuuut Pixar is once again is good at making side characters 3D while still not having them be the focus, so it just kind of surprised me.
Regardless, I'll be seeing it again happily once it comes out on TV and DVD, I bet. By the way, before I forget, the short at the beginning was so adorable. ;;
Actually, speaking of side characters, one thing I've noticed about watching Inazuma Eleven GO is that they haven't really been giving much spunk to the enemy teams. One thing the original series does better is...well, making you feel something for the other team. Do I even have to mention Genesis and The Kingdom and Unicorn? ;; (and Neo Japan but that's just me) And yet I cannot say I have any favorite characters from any other team, and I've seen episodes from as late as the 30s in a 40something episode series. I like character's designs, sure, but I can't say I can get really invested in them themselves. I was getting so excited about the other teams, too....:P
But GO also has Nishiki so I can't complain. :P
