Why Two?

I just finished a manga that was made up of oneshots. The weird thing was that two different chapters had main characters with the same name. Both of  them looked similar too. They were not the same character though. Why?  Was it a translation error? Whatever it was, it was weird.

On an unrelated note, I really like the opening song to Persona 4.
