For the Love of God

Ok so I've got lots of work to do but there is a certain someone (Jon Freeman) who calls and tells me several times a week (almost daily) that I need to update my journal. So here goes:

I went to Florida for break YAY!! We had a super great time. Friday we spent traveling. Saturday we got up at the butt crack of dawn to go on our sailing trip (which was almost canceled because of the fog). We were the only ones on the boat, it was great. The weather was soooo nice. We took a 45 minute trip out to this little island "Shell Island" and collected shells, and then sailed back. It was a great way to spend the morning. We also "met" Tony the Tiger...our first celebrity sighting really! (Yes I have pictures if you want to see them)After that we went to Clear Water Beach, and ate at a fun little place called Crabby Bills. Then we went to the beach. My mom was working, so I called to remind her that I was at the beach, and it was 87. I'm nice like that. We went on to KJ's Aunt and Uncles house, where the fed us and let us stay for the night. They live in this gated community in Florida with all sorts of fun stuff...pool, hot tub, sauna, health club, petting zoo, theatre! It was fun.

Sunday Morning Cyndi and Maria and I went to the nearest church (which happened to be Methodist) for the Sunrise Service, because it was Easter. It was a good service and the people were very friendly to us. Some nice young men in the congregation invited us to go to their Bible Study, but unfortunately Mickey was calling my name. We drove to Disney where Maria, Amy and I spent the day. The rest of the bums went to Universal. Disney was super fun! Mostly because I had the cool kids with me and we laughed at the fact that we were the only ones over 10 years old there without children of our own. Still we had fun riding the rides, and meeting Mickey, and anorexic Ariel! We saw the Easter Parade...and yes heard the song about 500 times. We also saw the fireworks and the night time parade. Magic Kingdom is definitely a good time, though I'm not sure I'd go back without some kids!

We got into the sketchiest hotel EVER that night after riding the Disney monorail for 40 minutes (don't ask)! I'm just glad we only had to stay for a few hours! Monday we drove to North Fort Myers where we'd be staying for the week. We met the volunteer coordinator, Liz, who was an absolute riot. They claim that is what I'm going to be like in a few years. Our orientation was supposed to be like 20 minutes long and ended up being 2 hours...we basically just sat their and laughed uncontrollably the whole time. I think it was mostly good for us because we had been in the car a long time and we were all feeling a little cranky and tired.

Ok meeting time....more updates later...if Jon is a good boy!
