Was good. Duh. Like a mini-vacation, such a zoo visit. And the zoo was kind enough to alleviate some of my fears as to the size of the exhibits, etc. Although it's still a shame for the animals... I wonder how much 'research' has been done on their happiness?
A study has been done, for instances, for 'fur animals' (something I am heavily against, by the way) happiness in captivity. Basically, it turns out that most of them are happier if they get access to a small pool of water in their cage. Almost as important as food. So to raise the life experience of such animals in captivity, providing such a pool is a good thing.
It's good to see less 'stressed' animals in zoo's, though. Seems like when I was a wee one, zoo's were less friendly things. I got a lot of rest from going to the zoo, with a few exceptions.
Hell, who am I to talk? I keep pets in cages.... but I imagine they have a pretty good life...
I'm not sure direct linking to one of my providers will work for pictures, so I'll just give you 1 link (and you can see my new glasses at the same time).
