Got an e-mail from my Bro-ham. It's been like 9 months... I replied back with the following which is journal worthy:
It's so good to hear from you. I have to say that I have been wondering about you lately and how things were for you. Thank you for the update. :) Oregon eh... that's cool, why couldn't it be something like Ohio? Closer to me and it has Cedar Point. ;) Just kidding. That's awesome though, I wasn't sure if you guys were out of the country or not. I think I heard that right from someone... Anyway...
Sounds like things are going ok, sorry to hear about the job situation. The economy here is pretty bad as well, so I can somewhat relate with what you have to deal with. How far along will you have to attend Lane before you get your associates? I have one more semester left for my Programming Specialist Associates and then I am hoping that I might find this special program through EMU (Eastern Michigan University) that will allow me to get a Bachelors, probably in something like IT Business Management, in a short time. From there I was thinking of maybe getting another job part time teaching in a computer related field. What I really am looking into is possibly getting a job working for Datatel. It's a well known company that built a database system for schools around the nation, ours is included. Lane might even be using that system... Anyway, if I did, I would consider getting a consulting job which would require me to travel around to schools across the US, for database consulting... I don't know, it's just an idea. :)
I am still single, living the life of a video game dork just trying to pay the bills. :P As far as my job, I do not remember if you know, but I am working part time as Staff, instead of a student employee, in Administrative Systems. I am a Technician and I work with two other gals, an Analyst and my boss, the Coordinator of our group. We are sort of a small division of IT, that works with Datatel, that's where they come into play. No benefits like health, but I do get 6 credits classes free every semester! Bonus! right? Other than that, just playing the latest games. I now have a PS3 and a Wii. Which by the way, I recommend looking into a Wii. 1) Because they are cheap. :) 2) Because you can get the Wii Fit. If you do not know what the Wii Fit is, I highly recommend researching it, it is a great investment for both you and Heidi. I am saving up to get one myself. :) If you have any questions about it just let me know.
Remember Rock Band? Well, in case you don't know, they are coming out with another. Rock Band 2. And its competitor Guitar Hero 4, will now incorporate a whole band, instead of just the guitar. AND, they have vastly improved the drums! You can play them as if they were a real drum set!!. Awesome! I know. Lot of money though :(
OK, sorry enough about that. :) The Yamaha is ... well... sitting. I got new tires for it, but, the chain is really bad and needs to be cleaned or probably replaced. Also, the cable to the speedometer fell off the wheel and I lost some parts since it dragged on the highway for who knows how long. Freaked me out when I didn't know how fast I was going. That shouldn't be too bad to replace. Just more money out of the pocket. Other than that it still runs great, getting ready to store it for winter however. How about you? Any new toys?
Anyway, it's awesome to hear that you guys are doing well and getting some schooling. :) Don't give up, I thought about it myself and luckily I came to my sense and didn't.
Hope to hear from you again soon.
~ Toby
