1) What author do you own the most books by?
I'm too lazy to count, but either Jim Butcher or Stephen King. I know that i have all of the Dresden Files novels, as well as all the novels in his other series. But I also have a shit ton of King books.
2) What book do you own the most copies of?
The Stand I have . . .
-- Hardcover version that was my dads, so it's from the 80's
-- Paperback I bought secondhand because the hardcover was too big to lug around with me
-- Extended cut paperback
3) Did it bother you that both those questions ended with prepositions?
Nope. Does that mean that I fail or something?
4) What fictional character are you secretly in love with?
Ummm ? I make no secret that if Harry Dresden where real I'd be right there going "hi!" even if that would muck up my book OTP.
5) What book have you read the most times in your life?
I'd say ... The Stand, The Princess Bride, and Snow Crash are the ones I've read the most.
6) What was your favorite book when you were ten years old?
Eeeps. I don't know! I want to say one of the Binicula books though. Or this -- and this might have been a fave when I was younger than ten, a book about a Were-Squirrel (yes) that bit a dog, and was turning the poor hunting dog into a were squirrel. The dog at one point painted it's self blue, because that was supposed to help ward off the curse. I suspect that my brain has now made some connection between blue and that warding off supernatural creatures, and voila, my favorite colour became blue.
7) What is the worst book you've read in the past year?
Ummmm. I started reading this book about Houdini and it was just terrible. I didn't finish it. Does that count? I normally don't finish books that piss me off / annoy me.
8) What is the best book you've read in the past year?
Yikes. I guess .... maybe Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane? I did not see the end of that one coming at all. I really, really, liked it too. Oh The Time Traveler's Wife sucked me in, and did not let me go. I was up at 2:00 AM one day finishing it and sobbing hysterically.
9) If you could force everyone to read one book, what would it be?
Ummm. Snow Crash because it's wicked cool. And a friend recommended it to me, and basically made me read it, so I'd pass that favor on!
10) Who deserves to win the next Nobel Prize for literature?
Epps. No idea. I mostly read genre stuff.
11) What book would you most like to see made into a movie?
I don't know.
12) What book would you least like to see made into a movie?
I don't know.
14) What is the most lowbrow book you've read as an adult?
I don't know! Well, I read one of my sisters trashy romance novels once. It was really bad about a sports agent who was romancing a baseball player. So bad.
15) What is the most difficult book you've ever read?
Hrm. Probably something I had to read for Foundation Year, but I've blocked out most of those books.
16) Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
I have to say Russian. Only because I know that I've read Russian authors translated to English (The Watch books) and I'm not sure about any French authors.
17) Umberto Eco?
Errr ?
18) Roth or Updike?
Obviously I read mostly s/f and fantasy. And those guys don't write that.
19) David Sedaris or Dave Eggers?
I am feeling kinda lame here.
20) Shakespeare, Milton, or Chaucer?
Shakespeare.
21) Austen or Eliot?
I. Hated. Adam Bede. So. Much. That I chose Austen here.
22) What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
Well. I guess I should read outside of s/f, fantasy, or chick lit.
23) What is your favourite novel?
I can't pick just one. Well. A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby. I really like it!
24) Play?
Hmmm. A Midsummers Night Dream has never lost its charm for me.
25) Short story?
I -- I don't know

Erks. I umm, really liked the biography that Christopher Plummer wrote

I'm going to steal from
zenni here Stephanie Meyer.
29) What is your desert island book?
Hmmm, Outlander or The Stand
30) And ... what are you reading right now?
I read a couple books at once but right now I have Unfallen Dead by Mark Del Franco next to me.
