Bit of a strange question, but...
I'm in the planning stages of a fic where you see a lot of the day-to-day running of a starship - it can't all be surprise Klingon attacks and weird away team experiences, right?
I'm trying to think of the sort of forms that Kirk would have to sign or authorise, even if he didn't actually have to fill them out himself. The problem is that I work in education, and any forms I have to deal with bear no resemblance to the real world at large.
So, I suppose I'm asking for any ideas anyone may have for paperwork. Names of actual forms you have to deal with would be cool - I can Trekify them, but general ideas for the sort of less than interesting material that Kirk would have to plough through would be very gratefully received. I would guess that there would be daily status reports from all major departments of the ship - Engineering, Medical, Communications, Security, the various Science divisions - but what random stuff would also appear?
Crack ideas are more than fine!
