Little help with my confusion here...

So i'm really confused with things right now.
My base of seniority is the year, month and the day which the group debuted so please no hates ._. maybe we have different concepts and i'm so confused right now ._.
Starting with Hey! Say! JUMP, so Kisumai is their senpai? I don't really get it.
I know Kisumai has been formed before Hey! Say! JUMP debuted and they debuted a few years later. So i was a little confused why Hey! Say! JUMP treat Kisumai as their seniors (which is fine by me and i think they deserve it.) and they are older than JUMP so yeah~
So when i watched a SC cut that i downloaded and i dunno why but from what i read in the translation Kawai-kun said that he and Kiriyama-chan(not sure) are their(Sexy Zone) seniors and i was like whut? O.O I mean Johnny's WEST just debuted this year right? and if i'm not mistaken Sexy Zone debuted last 2011, A.B.C-Z last 2012 and this year for Johnny's WEST.
Not mad, just shocked. So are they basing on their ages for seniority? :'(
I mean if there is another group that will debut and they are older than Sexy Zone then they will continue being Kouhai's? T_T my poor Sexy Zone
