You are lucky. Parts of my town lost both power and water. My house was saved from the flood damage, but my house did lose water for a day.
My town was hit pretty hard by the floods. Route 7, the main access road through the town, washed out. Nay, that's an understatement; the river stemming form the "waterfall" (between the video store I work at and a tavern) jumped over the road. So, we were landlocked and I spent time taking photos and finding a way to walk back home.Usually it takes a couple of minutes of walking from the store to my house but the flood cut off my route. I was lucky to be offered a ride by two angels, who drove me the long way to the parallel street of my street, through back roads, etc etc. They got me as far as the post office then I hoofed it through the rain walking through people's yards, up the parallel street, down my street to my house. If it was not for my dogs I am dog/house-sitting for my parents, while they are taking a trip to Canada, I would have instead stayed at one of the inns.
Many of the businesses, including the store I work at, were badly damaged. Our town's pizzeria was knocked off its foundation and an adjacent ex-tavern was taken over by the flooding waters. Also, the bridge across form the "waterfall" and a couple of houses are toast.
