what does 86 mean?
Well at my work I always hear the cooks yelling 86 so and so..
Meaning we are out of soemthing.. but I never knew why they called it 86.
Well at first i thought it was because something happen in 1986 well I did a web seach and I found out I was wrong.
so here is why its called 86
"The term 86'd goes back to the first restaurant Delmonicos. It refers to the ribeye steak that was sold there. It was item 86 on their menu and was sold out one night, hence the term 86'd."
