On Universal Principles of Truth

May 06, 2006 09:55

It can in now way be denied that there is something in the universe acting on everything else in the universe at the same time and in some degree. What is that something you ask? Gravity. Gravity. Gravity. What is gravity? Well you can't feel it with your hand, nor can you taste it with your tongue, or smell it with your nose, see it with your eyes, hear it with your ears, smack it, hump it, kick it, grab it, read it, or any other such experimental excersize to interact with the UNIVERSAL PRINICPLE of gravity itself. It is something that you only understand and experience as a principal... with your mind.

Once you have come to realize that the above statement is true, through trial and error, socratic dialogue, and other such research, it is time to apply that method of testing a principle to other principles of that sort. I will tell you right now that you can't defy gravity, deny it, or spy it, but you will never know until you try it.

Take a moral principle for example. Love thy neighbor. First things first. What is love? Well the Greeks had two definitions for it, well they had more, but two MAIN definitions that opposed one another. One of them was aimed at reception of love from another person, and the other was aimed at giving love to that other.

The First is called Eros: Selfish love, erotic love, sensually stimulating love, passionate, sick, disgusting, saddening love.

The Second is called Agape: Selfless love, agapic love, compassionate, uplifting, charity, challanging, enduring love.

Now with those two as our measuring stick, we would always act out of agape if we came from a good backround, have developed that emotion through much experimentation and trial, and have given it away to as many people as possible. Money is Eros, Medicine is Agape.

Alot of misguided people think that $$money$$ solves all your problems. LIE! Money is a problem, causes problems, and is nothing other than a stronger choice than no money. It can do good, but not on it's own. Ben Franklin will not speak to you from the hundred dollar bill and tell you that a penny saved is a penny earned, neither will Abe Lincoln tell you that you should invest in infrastructure developement because it increases your economies potential to grow in the future.

EVERY HEALTHY ECONOMY NEEDS THREE THINGS... Water, Power, and a Work Force. Money is a bi-product of that. A powerfull source of credit with which you exchange man hours for products produced by other man hours, or straight work for work.

A good moral system needs no laws to enforce itself with. Morality can be taught through words, music, art, and drama. There are many other ways to learn morality but these are generally where one derives their moral system from. Laws are set to ensure that if ones behavior and choices impede on anyone elses freedom to make their own choices and behave as they wish to, the offender will be punished, and the offended will be redeemed.

Moral issues are not legal issues.

You are free to have your own system of morals, but depending on the Judicial system you function within, those laws are not chosen by you. Therefore, a judge, jury, government, and law enforcement agancy must make those decisions for you to protect and serve you to the best of their abilities. A well funtioning moral society will provide as many morally uplifting forms of entertainment and education that they can afford. An investment into morality is much more valuable than an investment into money, power, pr object posession.

Any questions?
