Character: Anjou Naruko a.k.a “Anaru”
Series: We Still Don’t Know The Name Of The Flower We Saw That Day (AnoHana)
Character Age: 16

Canon: That Show With The Ridiculously Long Title tells the story of a group of six friends who were really close as kids, but due to Unfortunate Circumstances™ grew apart throughout the years. Now, they are teenagers, still struggling with their unresolved issues, and end up becoming close again, in a joint effort to make a single wish come true.

Anaru, so-nicknamed by her group of childhood friends is your textbook definition of tsundere: prickly and seemingly uncaring on the outside, but squishy and full of feelings on the inside. She has loved manga and video games ever since she was a kid, but as she started growing up and making new friends, she more or less forced herself to become girlier in order to fit in. So now she dyes her hair, wears contacts and is very into fashion while still... having a part-time job at a video game store and keeping a huge collection of geeky stuff neatly organized at home. Overall, Anaru is just a girl trying to find her own identity, who wants nothing more than to be accepted and acknowledged by those around her; even if this means having to go out to places she normally wouldn’t frequent, or putting up a friendly and civil front with strangers.

Okay now, here’s the thing. I wouldn’t normally offer to do this for anyone, much less people I just met, but this thing where you keep on drooling on my shirt and trying to chew on my hair is getting kinda tiring. And... no offense, but I think I’ve never seen a fashion emergency quite this literal before. So what do you say I give you girls a quick makeover and you leave me alone for the rest of today? Sounds good? One moan for yes and two for no!

Great, so let’s start with something simple: Let’s paint each other’s nails! It takes a while to get the hang of it, but before you know it you’ll have developed a great pulse, er, a hand for it and you’ll be able to do it to on your own-u-um. Wait, wait! I can see how it would be easier to do your nails like that, but traditionally we don’t... er, remove our nails from our fingers to paint them, not even with enhancements! A-Are you sure you can get those back in place?

Next, uh... makeup! We’ll go with a natural look, something fresh and summery that goes with the whole farm theme but that still makes your features stand out. Remember, foundation is basic here, just don’t expect it to cover up any holes larger than an inch. ...Excuse me? Could you stop nibbling on my lipstick? Flesh is a color, not a flavor! And you over there, be careful when applying those falsies; they’re supposed to go on your eyelids, not directly on your eyeballs!

… Oh. Oh you don’t have... h-haha, never mind then!

Now, how about you girls keep practicing like that for now? I’ll be over here if you have any questions and-oh my god is that a real moogle?! I-I mean, if you have any questions and it’s something I’m not sure about I can just look it up on Google! Ahh, it’s sooo cuuuute.
