[Those cameras are pretty good at capturing just the right moments on film.
Like, for example Yukino shrieking and throwing her
Ken doll of her boyfriend Arima across the room. It hits the wall, and there's a sharp crack of plastic - a sound that's a little too gruesome for a doll

Alex has a lovely red graze on his cheek from his own doll tussle, though fortunately he managed to avoid a dusting. ]
It wasn't alive. It was just a mansion thing.
[ He mostly sounds decisive, though behind his words there's an unspoken right? I didn't just make some horrible mistake? ]

...Mm. Right. I don't really know much about magical things, so I wasn't really sure. But I guess that sounds kind of ridiculous. I mean, they're still just dolls, even if they move...
Wait, are you okay? [She points at her own cheek, drawing a line with her finger to mirror where his mark is.] Did your doll do that?

[ His flipped out about three seconds into their conversation, so his money was on 'psycho mansion toy' rather than 'was it something I said'. But... ]
I just told mine it wasn't - who it said. Then it started trying to hit me.
[ And succeeding, but let's not go into how he got punched by a doll. ]

That must be it! I wasn't as direct when talking to mine, but we essentially told them the same thing - that they aren't real! They all probably attack when confronted with the knowledge that they're artificial!
[Well, that explains a lot. ...It doesn't really explain that odd plastic quality her hair has now though.]
