Johnny's Take Over October & Other Nonsense
October already?? I always look forward to October, and this month is shaping up to be one of the best of 2014. Sounds a little dramatic right? Well let's take a look shall we:
1. 10/4 Junichi Okada's movie Higurashi no Ki opens. It may surprise you that I am not just an Arashi fan. Ok, so granted I pretty much fell in love with Okada when I watched Tokyo Tower, and no not just because of that shower scene. It's kind of funny because when I think of Okada I don't always link him with V6. Don't get me wrong I love me some V6, but I tend to think of Okada outside of them and mostly as an actor. Anyhow, I am actually pretty excited about this movie and cannot wait until I can get my hands on it. I am not the biggest fan of Maki Horikita, but maybe this will change my mind.
2. 10/6 Leader plays Zero-G on Arashi Discovery and fandom goes a little nuts. Did you hear it? What did you think? Let's be honest here, when I first heard The Digitalian I was a little scared. We all generally hear "electronic music" and instantly think of major auto-tune right? Well, I was blown away with Zero-G. It could have just been that I was dying to hear it and maybe I would have like it even if it sound like someone was murdering kittens. Thankfully this was not the case and come on Ohno doing the choreo and we're getting a PV & the making of. HEAVEN!!!
3. 10/8 Brings us the release of Yamapi's new album You. I heard the preview to this album the other day and I could not stop playing it. I used to follow News awhile back, but then kind of stopped for awhile. Next thing I know Pi is off doing his solo thing and I never really could get back into News after that. It was like when Jin Akanishi left KAT-TUN, as much as I liked the other guys (and I still love me some Kame) the group just wasn't the same. Anyhow, so I start seeing Pi all over the place and I've got some catching up to do. Between his album and movie, I'm pretty damn happy. and PS. I'm so excited for Kiri because she gets to attended his radio event. That girl better get back to me quick with DETAILS!!!
4. 10/8 also brings us the release of Sho-chan's Kamisama no Karute 2 on DVD & Bluray. I have been dying to see this one for so long. This is one of those prime examples of when being an international fan kind of sucks. The actual movie comes out and I read all over it. I see LJ and Tumblr posts. Read about it all over Twitter and I have to WAIT FOREVER. This will happen with Aiba-chan's new movie too, but I digress. I've got this one ordered and on it's way.
5. 10/9 let's not forget Sho's Special from Hawaii that is on tonight!!
6. 10/11 Yamapi's movie Kinkyori Renai will hit theatres and I will yet again start the waiting game.
7. 10/19 Tokyo Live starts back up featuring Koyama up first. Not to take away from Koyama, but just tell me when Aiba's on will you.
8. 10/22 V6 new single Sky's the Limit releases
9. 10/22 Arashi' The Digitalian realeases!!!! Ok, let's not pretend like this isn't the single greatest thing happening in October for this fangirl. I could gush on and on, but it's getting late and really if you are here you probably already know that I am a crazy Arashi fan and therefore know that I am watching for my shipment email.
Chinen & Maru have a drama coming up today, starting the 15th I believe. While I think Chinen and his little Ohno-kun obsessed heart are adorable I just can't wrap my head around Maru. I've never been a big Kanjani8 fan, but there is just something about this guy that bugs me. Might have to pass on this one. Keito has a drama starting this month too.
Add into this mix that my dear friends in Japan, Kiri & Jess, are waiting to hear on ballot results for the Arashi Dome tours, Kiri's also waiting on school answers, and the cherry on the cake....my birthday. October is shaping up to be a crazy month, but full of so much Johnny's goodness.
Now before you go thinking my life revolves on all things Johnny's, it kind of does a little sometimes, let's just talk about the fact that it's October and it's finally fall. I can finally wear my boots and my sweaters and my scarfs. I drink pumpkin infused drinks by the gallon. I can eat chocolate like it's a new food group and no one will care. When I lived in Korea this was the time of year that they would start roasting chestnuts in the markets, god I still remember that smell. While I love October I always dread a little turning another year older. However, this past year has just amazing, and I can't help but think that the hands of fate aligned just right to make this one of the best years yet, so maybe this year I don't mind getting a little older; because maybe it means that next year holds even more amazing memories and good times to be had.
