I DECIDE 2006: How I Plan To Vote Tomorrow

This is by no means a VOTING guide.. Those fucking "Voting Suggestions" and Voting guides drive me fucking crazy!! I can't believe that many voters ACTUALLY rely on the Modesto Bee or AM Talk Radio to tell them how to VOTE.. Today after work, I sat down under a shady tree on this breezy autumn day and went through the huge voting booklet that I got in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and here are the conclusions that I have come to based upon viewing it..

I Encourage everybody out there NOT only to Vote but READ your Voter Manual and come up to YOUR OWN Conclusions about what to vote, for, against, etc..

Do NOT by Any Means use this post as a "Voter Guide":

GOVERNOR: PETER M CAMEJO, Green Party

I'm Predicting right now: Arnold Schwarzenegger WILL win tomorrow by AT LEAST 10 Percent of the Vote.. IT WON'T EVEN BE CLOSE.. It's because both candidates, Arnold and Phil Angelides are indistinguishible in their views of California.. Arnold's advantage is that after his failed "Special Election" he seemed to star in his new role as, "The Populist Governor"..

Who I am choosing came down to many issues that I felt were important to California that NEITHER candidates were addressing.. Although I agree with Libretarian candidate ART OLIVER's views on Illegal Immigration and border security, and DON'T agree with Camejo, the rest of Camejo's platform contains issues that I hold dear to my heart, such as The Environment, Ending Welfare for Corporations, Making Health Care affordable, etc.. Libretarians believe tbat Corporations should have ABSOLUTELY NO REGULATION placed on them therefore I cannot support a libretarian candidate... I voted for CAMEJO in the 2002 Governor's race and will do as again tomorrow..

LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR: DONNA WARREN, Green Party

Again, while I liked the Libretarian Candidates view of decriminalization of marijuana, Donna Warren goes a step further by calling for an end to the war on drugs, AND actually sued the federal government for assisting in the pumping of meth into American streets and neighborhoods..

SECRETARY OF STATE: FORREST HILL, Green

CONTROLLER: LAURA WELLS, Green

TREASURER: MEHUL K THAKKER, Green

ATTORNEY GENERAL: MICHAEL S WYMAN, Green

INSURANCE COMMISSIONER: LARRY CAFIERO, Green

BOARD OF EQUALIZATION MEMBER DIST 2: RICHARD R PERRY, Peace and Freedom

STATE SENATOR, DISTRICT 12: The Democrat Democrat (there were only 2 Choices Democrat and Republican, and when given that little of a choice I tend to go with the Democrats)

STATE SENATOR, DISTRICT 14: The Democrat : See Above

STATE ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 17: The Democrat, See Above

STATE ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 25: The Libretarian, Yep! This time there were 3 CHOICES!

STATE ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 26: The Democrat

US SENATE 2: TODD CRIETIEN, Green

US REP DIST 19: The Democrat (see Above)

*School Board ETC.. will be determined once I get to the polls.. Didn't get a complete read up on those candidates..

STANISLAUS COUNTY Measure K: NO for the simple reason that developers and the commuters that buy homes in Stanislaus counties should have to pitch in for projects such as road construction, etc.. I am against a Flat Sales Tax for all Stanislaus County Residents..

TURLOCK CITY MAYOR: DAVID "DJ" FRANSEN, JR

Though I DON'T like the fact that he has never voted compared to the other two mayoral candidates he seems to have a better understanding of Turlock's future

TURLOCK CITY COUNCIL: TED HOWZE

because he's a Veterinarian.. If he's good enough to take care of my kitties, he's good enough for the city of Turlock..

BOND MEASURES AND PROPOSITIONS:

1A: Transportation Funding Protection: YES

1B: Highway Safety, Traffic Improvement, etc: NO.. It's an expensive bond..

1C: Housing and Emergency Shelter Trust Fund Act: YES

1D: Kindergarten-University Public Education: YES

1E: Disaster Preparedness and Flood Prevention: NO

PROPOSITONS:

83: Monitoring for Sex Offenders: NO

While Rapists and Child Molestors deserved to be punished for their crimes , A person who is characterized as a "Sex Offender" could be a 19 year old guy that has sex with his 17 year girlfriend, etc.. The Current Laws against sex offenders are fair enough.. There are murderers on the streets, gangs, meth labs being smuggled in from the Southern border, there are bigger problems with crime in our state than sex offenders.. Seriously! Also Monitoring and Tracking of ANYBODY makes me Very nervous! because why would it stop with the Sex Offenders.. How long will it be before Employers start tracking and monitoring every move their employees make? Don't think it could happen? Think again..

84: Safe Drinking Water: YES

85: Waiting Period and Parental Consent on Abortion: NO

86: Tax on Cigarettes: NO.. This will likely get defeated, especially with the tobacco companies spending millions of dollars to get this tax voted down.. Smokers do seem to be unfairly targeted and I wouldn't agree with taxing people that smoke extra for their habit.. However, I despise the tobacco companies and their scum bag lobbies, anyone ever see, "Thank You For Smoking"..

87: Tax the Oil Companies for Alternative Energy: YES, the oil companies have fought tooth and nail to get this defeated, as they should their LIVELIHOODS are on the line.. AND they Won't have the freedom to gouge the hell out of consumers during the summer.. Of course they are using the scare tactics of "Higher Gas Prices" will result from the passage of Prop 87.. The Secret is if you want lower gas prices: PARK that FORD EXPLORER and the HUMMER H2 and Encourage your neighbors to do the same.. And while you're at it, DON'T elect an Oil Man as President again..

88: Tax the land to fund the schools: NO, and here's why, the bill would give the state legislature the freedom to determine how to spend the money based on the tax and the tax is basically a flat tax placed on many of California's middle class... The parcel tax is opposed by many school based organizations, which stands out to me..

89: Increases Taxes on Corporations that donate to Political Campaigns: YES .. The corporations are of course fighting this tooth and nail and this will likely be defeated, but I am voting for it..

90: Restricts Eminiment Domain YES , developers and rich property owners are fighting this measure and it is likely to fail, but I am voting YES on this and keeping my fingers crossed that it passes..

PEACE!
