so I was yawning over my internship as of late. It seemed that all I was doing was looking up images on google and running odd-job errands. And while I know this is an intricate part of my internship experience, I want to actually learn something.
So today I one of the guys gives me a couple of visual elements to slap together and make a sign for their new building. Just a little thing, 3"x5". I'm told to make it look good, cool even.
So I do it. I like it, but that never gaurantees that you'll have a winner with the higher ups.
Apparently they liked it. Both the Publisher and the Editor sought me out to tell me they really liked the card.
So yeah, I was pretty happy about that, sorta on a "I dun did good" high.
Then at 5pm, Richard Meeker, the Publisher, comes and gives me a red Sameunderneath windbreaker as thanks for the design.
I looked it up, this thing's worth $60. And it's red...and I was in need of a windbreaker that fits....
So, what did I learn? Make pretty things and if people notice, you get pretty things in return.
Thanks for letting me root-a-toot-toot my own horn.
