Case-by-case: Apollo Justice Countdown Day 2

Erm...not quite, but closer.

The opening banter between Mia and Maya is very nicely executed--it really lets you get a feel for how close they are, even though the implication is that they don't get to spend much time together anymore. Ah, good-natured antagonism~. Way to go, writers...go ahead and make Mia's death that much more tragic, since it's not like, you know, Maya can ever see Mia unless Pearl is there. ;_; The unfortunate death of one of my favorites, damn.

That didn't stop me from doing a very "Let's Pick on Maya" playthrough this time. There's some good, entertaining stuff there that you don't get playing the Right Way. I'm sorry, Maya, ILU.

As noted before, the characters are very interesting at this stage. Most of them are still really rough and haven't started to settle into their molds. Phoenix is much, much sharper than I'm used to seeing him, all snark and sarcasm and scathing internal monologue <3. The judge isn't goofy or quirky (much), and doesn't (always) blindly follow the requests of the prosecution. WHAT IS THIS ALMOST REALISM, AND WHAT IS IT DOING IN MY FUN TIME CRACK GAME? Edgeworth, as far as this case goes, is a little bland, but there's an excellent little bit of dialogue where he corrects himself after phrasing something inelegantly. He's trying so hard to be erudite (not that he isn't, but he's shooting for even more pretentious than later), with all the "Ho hoh"s and polite seething rage. Poor dear.

The baddie is good--Redd is flamboyant, but I find him a great deal more frightening than many of his evil successors...his far reach into every aspect of government is a bit underplayed, I think. He could have seriously wrecked Phoenix's shit if he plotted it out.

Also, I'd forgotten about the fact that this game is set far into the future, but did this creep anyone else out?

-Phoenix
In fact, it's gotten worse.
Lengthy court proceedings
are no longer realistic.

-Phoenix
Beginning a few years ago,
a limit of three days was put
on initial court trials.

-Phoenix
Almost all finish in a day.
Most with a guilty verdict.

Doesn't that seem almost Orwellian to anyone else?

Ah, I love this game.

Also, April May is a Slutty McSlutface.

I'm sick, and tired, thus allowed to sound retarded.
