I finally got my car registered in NY. I needed my title, a letter from the bank saying I'm allowed to register the car in NY, a proof of insurance form, a sales tax exemption form, and a car registration form. The title and letter took forever to get and cost 25$. When I got to the registry I found out my proof of insurance form had expired and I had to call Progressive to fax over a new copy. I had insurance, but the form was older than 45 days so that makes it invalid. Why?

For my license I needed a birth cirtificate, a social security card, a copy of my marriage license, a recent pay stub, and my MA license. But after getting all that documentation, they still got my birth date wrong.
