I really, seriously HATE watching Wash die. I HAAAAAAATE IT. If there is anything i hate about this movie, it is that. Without fail, every time during the Reaver chase, i tense up and my heart starts racing out of sheer dread for what comes next. But you can't watch the fucking movie without that part! AGH. JOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSS!
Other than that, though, still rocks. Still love it. And just this viewing i realized: The Operative and "it's love, in point of fact" which is more dangerous than anything, and then Mal and River and the first rule of flying at the end! Aww, it's all about love. (which, well, DUH. Firefly has always first and foremost been about the love between a man and his spaceship.)
The Operative is awesome.
One thing that bugged me, just from watching it on the dvd, it all seemed very dark. It may have just been our tv, but man. Having seen it four times in the theatre, i noticed a significant difference in the light levels. :/ THIS BETTER NOT IMPEDE MY CAPPING. (omg it's so pretty!)
The special effects still kick fucking ass. The spaceships and planets and just... i am continually impressed. It's, like, a nice-lookin' movie, man! Why didn't more people see it, eh?
Oooh, and the bonus features were great. Have yet to watch the entire movie with commentary (YAY JOSS COMMENTARY YAY!), but, again- filled with love. Every time i see stuff with the cast and Joss and everyone- AGH SO MUCH LOVE. Because they love what they're making, and they love each other, and we love them, and... it's just... a lot of love. SEE! FIRST RULE OF FLYING! The deleted scenes are quite awesome, not like most deleted scenes in which one extra line is in an otherwise exactly the same scene, or in which one character stares at another for twenty extra seconds. These, like, had a point! So much Mal and Inara! Aw. THOSE COULD HAVE STAYED! I particularly enjoyed Inara freaking out about her affair with a pirate (AHAHAHAHAHA) and "why did you leave?" "why didn't you ask me to stay?" (yoooou stubborn emotionally-stunted bastards!)
