That was a terrifyingly accurate portrayal of a night of drinking. I loved Troy's unpleasant realization that it's a rite of passage that is not at all what it's cracked up to be. Shirley in particular made me very sad. :(
Jeff and Britta's bickering was so great, especially because they really are exactly the types to be total elitist know-it-alls about alcohol. Also, uh, drunken makeouts are nice. :O
Troy and Annieeeee! EVERYTHING ABOUT TROY. Holy crap i love that guy.
Whatever Abed's exact quote was, the whole "I did pick up on it a while ago, i just really like talking about Farscape." That, combined with Annie's excessive anxiety about the fake ID, and Troy ultimately taking care of everybody -- i completely identified with all of them at one point or another.
I was really disappointed with this season for a while, but the episodes seem to be getting consistently better -- i absolutely loved the missing pen episode, and the conspiracy theories episode was the fucking greatest. This one wasn't particularly hilarious, but it had a lot of character moments that rang really true, and the untidiness of the ending was great.
Fringe
SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
THAT WAS AMAZING
Except it ended on a down note instead of a "ADHJFGJKSJFGJ" note, which... :[ BUT THE REST OF IT. THAT SHIT WAS INTENSE.
THE FIRST SCENE. IT TOOK EVERY OUNCE OF MY BEING TO NOT JUST JAM MY GRINNING FACE RIGHT INTO THE TV SCREEN WHILE MAKING HIGH-PITCHED NOISES. That... uh, that probably sounds pretty weird. I WAS JUST SO EXCITED. I GET REALLY HAPPY WHEN BADASS SHIT GOES DOWN. Anyway, Peter getting the phone call and then just having to lay there, awake for hours with a stranger sleeping next to him, oh god oh god it was so excellent. And i mean, it was a pretty standard "they're an imposter!" revelation scene (FRANCIE DOESN'T LIKE COFFEE ICE CREAM) but DANG we've been waiting for this for so long, it was rad, and i love that there was no music the whole time, just dead silence and their voices.
EVEN THE CREDITS ALTERNATING BETWEEN RED AND BLUE WAS FUCKING EXCITING.
Alterna-Broyles ;_____; Since it was obvious that by helping Olivia escape he'd never be able to go back to working for Fringe Division, i was hoping there'd be some way for him to come over to our side (TWO BROYLESES!), but of course there have to be losses in a war. The way they found him was brutal though. It hadn't even crossed my mind that he would end up being the trade-off, but i wasn't really expecting Altlivia's crossover to work. I just... really keep wanting both Olivias to be in the same place at the same time again (OBVIOUSLY) but i suppose that's more like a season endgame. I'm impatient, okay. Impatient for epic Olivia battles.
The scene of Olivia locked in the holding cell before her attempted surgery, covered in markings and so, so desperate but still trying so hard not to let it show -- HOLY FUCKING SHIT that was heartbreaking. HER FACE. HER EXHAUSTED, TORTURED FACE, FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THEY ARE GOING TO KILL HER AND CUT OUT HER BRAIN. Oh my god, Olivia. Of course she was going to get out of it somehow, but when she was locked on that table and that saw was a second away from cutting into her back, i was honestly terrified. I'm not usually sold on that kind of thing (oh you're going to kill a main character? lol i don't think so) but the bleakness of the situation was incredibly convincing.
Altlivia yelling and waving a gun around in the train station was badass; that was a type of dangerously pissed Olivia we've never seen before. GODDAMN, SERIOUSLY, ANNA TORV IN THIS EPISODE. ~*~flawless~*~
The isolation tank!!!!!!!! Kicking it oooold schooool. Astrid being the person to find her was the GREATEST. I got a little teary. OLIVIA CAME HOOOOOOOOME. :') Peter's reaction when he heard she was back -- aw. He has been so dumb this season but i really do feel bad for him. It's obvious he hates himself for being duped.
I'm kind of upset Lincoln and Charlie never found out about their imposter Olivia. I'm hopeful we'll still get to keep up with Earth-2; i really want to see Altlivia reintegrating over there.
ALTLIVIA AND PETER. SHE TOOK THE PICTURES WITH HER. Oh daaaaannnnnngggggg. Are all my wishes coming true?!? SURE SEEMS LIKE IT!
Gaaaaaahhhhhhhh i am so excited for next week, but at the same time, how am i supposed to be satisfied with going back to procedural shenanigans after this?!? I know we have to build up again for the second half of the season, but now that both Olivias have gotten home, i'm not even sure where we're headed at this point. Aside from the obvious "assemble the doomsday device!" and "war."
