gripe time about the UK place
So, we've lived in this place roughly three and a half months. And now, of course, due to the shoddy construction of the place, we have the following issues:
* Shower leaking inside the wall of our bathroom
* Heater power switch throwing nasty sparks when shutting it off
* Bedroom light deciding to flicker and then die with a fresh bulb
* Spotlight halogens randomly deciding when they'd like to power up
* Outlet in living room won't accept plugs since the internal safety shield is stuck
* Wicked drafty windows that leak enough air even when sealed to drop overnight temperatures 5C/9F
Monday will be complaint day to Whitby holiday cottages. I want an electrician to audit the bedroom light, fix the outlet, and look at the heater switch. The plumber I'm writing off as a lost cause since he has decided not to visit in the last month no matter how many calls we make. And the windows... Well, short of demolishing the place and rebuilding it, I think that's also a lost cause.
Forty one more days of this crap and then on to home.
