Well I have some good news- today during lunch my dad went to a car auction and happened to see a black 1990 suburban...for about $3,600. So after a lot of phone calls between him, my mom, and kerri (who had that amount in the bank- actually a bit more) they decided to get it. Now the downside is that it is a GAS GUZZLER. Horrible gas milage. On the upside though...my parents have wanted a suburban FOREVER but never thought we could afford one. I don't remember how long but I think I first heard my mom say she wanted one in Arizona...so yeah, a LONG time ago. And now we have one. Second good point, it's four wheel drive which my dad has ALWAYS wanted. He's had one or two but not for very long or something, so yeah, he LOOOOVES that. Three it runs and feels like a truck which my dad has also ALWAYS wanted. He said that ideally he'd have a real pick up truck but that this is probably the second best he could get (he also happens to love the color black for any vehicle). Fourth...it "officially" seats eight. Enough for my parents, the two babies in car seats, sierra, shanna, me and one more. However FOUR can EASILY fit on the middle seat. So two more if needed. That was one of my mom's main concerns was that we'd never find and afford something that could fit all of the family. Which on just the insurance money, we couldn't have, but Grandma Lund also said that she would loan my parents any extra they needed up to I think $3,000 because she had that much saved up in the bank. Well instead they got it from Kerri for now, but when they get the insurance money they'll give that to Kerri and they're going to borrow the difference from Grandma and pay her in $50/month installments at least until the next income tax return. Sooo it's all working out for the better :-) Oh and the fifth good thing is that even though it's old, the guy who had it before took GREAT care of it both inside and out. It's in probably fair condition inside, and good condition outside. The main things are a few minor body dings here and there hardly noticible and the back speakers don't work great- a lot of static because of a short or something but they're still not as bad as Kerri and Adam's Chrysler speakers lol. So...life is good. It's gonna SUCK learning to drive it though- it's HUGE. Lol oh and my dad loves it so much that my mom said "If you could go back to that day you would probably TELL Ericka to hit the guardrail if you knew that you'd get this suburban out of it!" and at first he denied it but then said "I don't know it I'd go that far, but it would be tempting...maybe I'd go so far as to say 'um, you don't need to correct yourself THAT much...maybe turn the wheel a little more this way (towards the rail).'" Haha. Anyway, just wanted to let ya'll know.
