The little things
My students threw a surprise party for me today. To thank me for coaching.
Complete with cake (with "Thank you, Ms. Meacham" in red frosting and birthday candles...not sure why the candles, but they were there. And lit.), chips, salsa, soda, and homemade empanadas.
They also got me presents: a card, a bouquet of purple flowers, a candle, White Sox pens, and a $25 gift card for Target in a snow globe.
I'm overwhelmed by their generosity. Most of them are not from well-off families.
There's no telling how long they worked to arrange all that.
Just...thrilled and thankful.
