2008 - The Year in Picspam

Shamelessly stealing from mordororbust I give you

Welcomed in the New Year with Wendy's Harry Potter Party, complete with awesome homemade butterbeer courtesy of mordororbust and perniciousness.

And a game of Quidditch.

It was a winter that would prove to be the second snowiest on record.

And resulted in some gorgeous scenery on the daily half hour drive to school.

I, however, spent most of the first part of the year indoors photographing hundreds of pieces of clothing at the museum prior to reaccessioning them.

And then spent most of the spring digging through weapons in the jail armory designing a crime exhibit that never happened.

Then, in an unforeseen twist of awesomeness, my freakish knowledge of crime in the twenties and thirties led me to a write to a blog to correct some information, which led to additional research requests, which led me here...

The set of Michael Mann's "Public Enemies" starring one Mr. Johnny Depp.

What followed was 5 days on set spread over three months of movie magic.

I made some amazing friends.

Met two time Academy Award winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, whom I'm fairly certain thought I was a crazy person.

And got a hug from the leading man himself.

Early summer floods confirmed that putting a River Walk in below the condos across the river was a monumentally stupid idea.

Had some good times over the summer with the gang.
Going bowling. (Yes that is Circle B. And yes, we are that cool.)

Trying, and failing, to keep sharp objects and fire away from Kim.

Kim's annual Birthday pool party.

And 4th of July fireworks in Hartford.

In late summer my loyal camera of three years was killed in a vicious turtle attack. This picture of the assailant was its last.

I ended up taking the fall semester off so I could go to Europe. Something I've wanted to do since forever.
The journey took us to Poland, where we toured Auschwitz...

And ate the best meal in the history of ever.

Then onward to Prague where I spent a day wandering with my new bff Lauren.

And made a kitty friend at our hotel.

And finally we continued to Germany where the bulk of the trip was spent.

There I discovered the sheer awesomeness of Soviet built play grounds...

Spent a day exploring on rented bikes with Lauren...

Wandered through castles...

Went to many many bakeries...

Saw the sites in Berlin...

And almost caught a pigeon.

Those little buggers are faster than they look.

Got back home just in time to vote in my first presidential election.

And have spent the last two months being a lazy bum.

Got together the day after Christmas with mordororbust, Kim Apel and Devon.

And that was 2008. All in all, not a bad year.
