Anotsu Kagehisa.

You are Japanese as well. Are we of the same era?

He doubts it. Most Japanese people here are either from earlier or later than him. It's the Meiji era for him, after the bakumatsu. He's found most others are from at least a century earlier or later than him thus far.

[ooc; I guess 'bakumatsu' is literally 'end of the bafuku' or 'end of the shogun' r something like that--so maybe he'll inwardly squee?]

Meiji?

What year do you come from?

[ooc; yeah, but he's a bastard and he wants to have brought it down himself. ROFL. XD]

He believes the standardized western year is 1878. Meiji 11.

Western year?

How things have changed!

And so you witnessed the end of the Tokugawa.

Aa. He never followed that calender before coming here, however. There are so many that go by it that he's had to adapt.

Yes. It ended eleven years ago in his own world.

Before he says anymore... what are your own feelings about that knowledge?

[ooc; he's totally over here thinking 'the last time I did this I got a death threat an hour later... 8D but if he gets a good answer, he'll go into a long drawn out history lesson <3 with no mention of himself in it...]

The Bakufu deserves to fall, and by my hand.

[ooc; better safe than sorry! 8D LOL]

Sou ka...

In that case, [insert rundown of history from around the landing of the black ships in the 1850's or 1860's or whatever it was up through the battle of Toba-Fushimi and the end of the Bafuku <3 (with, of course, no mention of his role in it--of course it's still colored by his personal dogma and the whole point of the revolution was to creat a better world, blah blah blah--I trust you to interpret it right XD)].

[ooc; lol, ILU, but not enough to try to write all of that out.]

Ah. So there were two sides--the imperialists, and the pro-shogunate forces. Not quite what I had in mind, even if it is a hybrid of my plans.

No matter. My Itto-ryu will sculpt that history to our own making.

[ooc; you still rock my world, bb. >D]
