"ice cream" or "i scream"?

last night, what i expected to be a pleasurable, satisfying ice-cream eating experience took a deadly turn.

my evening ritual as of late (aka since I last went to stop & shop) has involved having some delicious edy's slow-churned mint choc. chip ice cream before bed. so, as per usual, i took a spoon, put two spoonfuls in a mug, and sat down on the couch. before i knew it, my lip was stuck to the spoon--just for a second--and my delectable ice cream had turned into a sour flavor of blood-chocolate-chip!! i couldn't believe it. apparently, the spoon had gotten so cold from simply scooping out ice cream that it caused the whole tongue-stuck-to-a-pole effect on my lips. who knew this was even possible? it wasn't painful or anything, and i didn't think much of it until i saw the blood as proof that my lip had actually been injured. the gushing (ok, well not gushing, but enough blood to soak through a tissue) didn't stop for like 20 minutes! and today my lip is still bothering me. i should totally sue the spoon manufacturer.

anyhow, aside from that, i have had a pretty good week as far as life goes. i sent an application in for a cat i fell in love with on mother's day. we went out to eat at that atlas park mall and they have a pet-adoption place there, where i met a long-haired black-and-white cat that is so mellow and affectionate, i feel like he would get along with my bunny a-ok. apparently he is good with other cats and dogs, so i'm hoping this will work out. i just need to clean up my apt this weekend since they do a home visit to make sure it's suitable for raising a cat...or whatever. i've never been more excited!!

also, working at blender for the past 2 weeks has been fun. everyone here is cool, young and hip. haha. i'm going to miss the atmosphere here! but next week i go back to POZ, so i'm excited to see everyone i used to work with. i feel like i'm getting ready for a high school reunion or something. then it's back to seventeen, then lucky, then domino. bouncing around is fun.

which brings me to my next point: i got the job i'd been interviewing for since march, at natural health. hollas! i'm quite excited, especially--i cannot lie--1) because they matched my salary request (!), and 2) because the staff is so small, i am going to have quite a bit of responsibility, which is a) a little scary but b) awesome in terms of production/writing/managing experience. did i mention i was excited? the only thing that is kind of a negative is that there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of people around my age on staff, so i feel like it's not really going to be the type of place where i can hang out with ppl for outside for work or for happy hours...but then again, i didn't really do that type of stuff at seventeen too often either, so i guess i can't complain. however, this also means that i have to go back to covering up my tattoos, which i was getting used to not doing at blender. but it's all good since offices are usually AC'ed in the summer anyway.

anyway, i start there in three weeks. in the meanwhile i'm going to have to scope out the 'hood around the office to see where i can get lunch--aka the most important thing ever.

in other news that isn't news at all, the G train sucks butthole. i went to alex's art show thingie in willyb last night with olish (free booze! holler!), and it was cool, but getting back home was such a mission. we waited almost a half hour for the G to come! newsflash, mta: gentrification is here to stay. please make the G train larger and run more often.
