[Yuri was unfortunate enough to arrive (again) during a moment of invasion, without a sword or axe at his ready. So what has he been doing to knock back these monsters? To be blunt, punching them. And that takes a lot more effort than slashing, even if he could hold his own.]

Damn, Vatheon. Do you like toying with me or what?

[Then, in the corner of his eye, a white blur dashes forward and--... Wait, what? Double check. Yeah, that ball of fur just took out what had been troubling him for the past ten minutes. He just blinked, and was a little disappointed it wasn't his own wolf partner Repede. But... well, it couldn't hurt to show a bit of gratitude.]

Be glad I weakened them.

[... Well. Cracking his pained knuckles, he steps to move onward, ready to punch out any more that pop up.]

[Ammy steps in front of him, growling at the monsters and baring her teeth. You're weaponless, dude, let her handle this!

And she does, summoning a bolt of lightning on the nearest cluster.

In the mean time, Yuri, you're getting pushed and kind of herded towards the town. We'll get you a weapon first before letting you handle things, right?]

[Huh, spellcasting dog, or complete coincidence? This just keeps getting weirder and weirder. At the least it seems to mean business, so he's just going to go along with wherever she’s taking him.]

[To the weapon shop! Ammy regularly rips through the enemies to clear areas out, but once you get a sword, things can get really fun.]

[Well, now he could see where this was going. He seriously hated imposing on the far-too-generous-that-it's-suspicious locals, but this scenario really called for it.]

[Grabbing a katana and bolting back out, he was ready to take them on, for real this time.]
