[Well, if you ran into Ammy earlier, you would have seen her staring at the bubble. And see her thinking about herself and the bubble. And that appears in the thought bubble in the thought bubble. And that goes on long enough to make a person cross-eyed

[Ken has been wandering out today. He doesn't know what this bubble is or why his back is suddenly glowing. He wanders out to the stores and stares at the thing labeled 'Mother's Day'.]

[... Ow. His thought bubble has a picture of just... blood on the floor, and he heads away from the shop, trying to distract himself with thoughts of dogs or training or something. He spots Ammy, and heads towards her, eager for a distraction.]

[Don't think Ammy didn't catch the sight in that thought bubble! She notices his distress and runs over, whining.]

[He kneels down and pets her head and neck. His thought bubble is still flashing between 'puppy!' and 'blood', though.]

[Her thought bubble has the blood and a question mark.]

[His thought bubble has a question mark in it, and then he turns and spots the thought bubble... which causes the thought bubble to appear in it. Then he looks over at the display again and then back at her thought bubble.]

... Oh. My mother died about two years ago.

[...Oh, that'd do it. Ammy gives as good of a "hug" as she can manage.]

[He wraps his arms around her, hugging her. His thought bubble is a little less bloody, and the images in it are a little more fuzzy. He just wants to sit here with her for a little bit.]

[Don't be sad! Ammy's here. You've got a lot of friends to count on.

She starts licking Ken's face.]

[laksdjfs. The bubble has a picture of Koromaru licking him now as he laughs and falls back a bit.]

[There we go! We'll just tickle you with wet dog kisses!]

[His thought bubble is just happy little bubbles right now. Doggy kisses make everything better, at least for a little bit.]

[He pets her fur a little more, calming down a bit. He'll just ignore the stupid day and continue with what he was doing.]

She thinks about Kokari, the young fishing boy in the woods. How he started out as a crybaby, how his dog gave him courage, and his voyage to become a man.]

[He sits, and watches. It's kind of... strange communicating like this, and his thought bubble shows his confusion, but it's still kind of sunny.]
