So... Hollywood! An evening with Shrek the third in an arclight dome cinema, a day of Gehry, Abromovich and Tuttle in the sunshine of downtown LA, and a day on Hollywood Blvd with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon before lunch, and those three plus Bernie Mac, Andy Garcia, Al Pacino, Eddie Izzard, Casey Affleck, Elliot Gould, Ellen Barkin, Tara Reid, Don Cheadle, Cindy Crawford and Angelina Jolie all popped in for tea!
Yeah ok, we spent all day with screaming, cheering, hysterical film fans, but by god did we see alot of 'Hollywood' walking across the Red Carpet.
The Oceans 13 Premiere was on today at the Graumans Chinese Theatre and seeing as our hostel was right down the road we thought we'd give it a shot. So we saw the three main cast members get to do thier hand and foot prints for the famed walk this morning, and then we found a prime spot across from the red carpet, for tonights premiere, Em even managed to haul herself over some french girl in front to be in touching distance of Ange herself (yes just as pretty in real life) unfortunately she only managed a look from ange instead of her penmanship, but she got the boobie prize of Brad's siggy. Maybe shes the only girl in Hollywood to be disapointed by this... (shes gutted)
Hollywood is actually much nicer at night time, there isn't the madness of tourism, and you can't see the tack as much (you also can't see the hollywood sign at night as they don't light it up[ and the smog is too bad)... although the revolving flashing lights of the adverts oposite our room stay on all night!!! (we're staying right opposite the Kodak Theatre in an 'establishment' that might need a little work!)
Also, went to MOCA, which in its grand ave location houses some good art, but some pretentious up thier own ass staff... and the downtown location houses some fabulous feminist art, with some much nicer employees. Had a great time there even as i dragged em out kicking and screaming from the bookstore there!
And Keith, thanks for the tip, the concert hall really is amazing! Go Gehry!
So now, we're off to bed, tired but rather happy at our brush with the famous of this here town. After all its not every day that you see George Clooney twice in one day!
