i cried because i was happy
my lips and eyes are swollen
i can still smell leaves in my hair

today i walked with other people who are alive
breathing in and out like it was nothing

today everything fell in to place

how does it feel, to fit so well?
we stopped forcing something that wouldn't be
let the relief take you over like new air in your lungs.

today i felt small, like a splinter
the world is vast, there is so much to be seen
to be done and heard and tasted and smelled
we are all smaller than we were yesterday
and the world got so much bigger

today i will try something new
you should feel how i feel
feel eutopia
find yours, in someone's arms, in a book or a movie
in the leaves. wherever.
