✖ Treat others the way you'd like to be treated! Golden Rule. All that stuff. None of this wank business. Make good use of any critique posts available, or if you have problems with another player, bring it to a mod! We'll help sort things out. The moderators reserve the right to ask a member to leave the community if they feel they are causing drama that negatively impacts the players or the game as a whole. Be mature and that won't be a used option.
✖ You must be at least 18 years old to play at Time and Tides. No Exceptions. There's the possibility for mature content within this game. All mature content is locked to non-members, but we must be assured that our played base is the appropriate age.
✖ No godmoding! This goes without saying, but treat other characters the way you want yours to be treated! No one wants to get to a tag and find they've been slaughtered without a fighting chance now, do they?
✖ Cut and friendslock anything above a PG-13 rating! Put proper warnings on those gory or smutty logs!
✖ OOC=/=IC! This is an important rule. For one, please do not take in-character offenses personally. If Sephiroth keeps stepping on your character's petunia garden, it's probably not because his player hates you. It's probably just Sephiroth being Sephiroth. However, if you ever feel bullied please do not hesitate to contact a mod and we will look into it.
For another, out of character knowledge is not the same thing as in character knowledge. Just because you know that it's really Cloud under all that makeup and satin doesn't mean your character should automatically know the same. Just because you know that a stampede of chocobo are about to flatten Galbadia Garden doesn't mean your character should try to evacuate the area. Things of that nature.
Lastly, as a tangent of this rule, remember that in character actions can and will result in IC consequences. Don't have your character grope Yuffie if you're not prepared to deal with the consequences.
✖ No original characters! This is a Final Fantasy-only RPG, so obviously all we allow is Final Fantasy characters from the first up to XIII (13), Crystal Chronicles series, all Tactics/Tactics Advance games, and a few of the anime/etc. offshoots. If in doubt, check the headings under taken characters. If you think we're missing something, feel free to get in touch with us and we'll take a look.
✖ NEW: What about babies? Here at Time and Tides, we recognize that babies can be a productive and natural result of mature, committed adult relationships. Sometimes having a child is the next natural step for some characters. However, we do have some caveats and rules that go with appreciation that sometimes another little person can be the best character development in the world. Please read The rules and regulations if you are considering having one of your characters start a family.
✖ Please don't kill anyone before asking nicely first! Please ask both all players directly involved with the death as well as at least one of us mods before do anything. This also goes for large-scale plot, being anything that affects more than a handful of characters. If Kuja wants to start dressing gender-appropriately, as earth shattering as that may be it doesn't require mod permission as it's effects would be relatively small scale. If Kuja wants to cast Ultima, however, we're going to need a heads up, and depending on where he plans on aiming that thing we may even have to say no. Sorry.
✖ Please follow the posting format!
- timeandtides - This is the main community/logs community. Any and all logs you work on will be posted here with appropriate tags. "open/closed", "in progress/completed", and the names of all characters participating, "first last".
- mooglenet - This is the IC network, which works like a forum, and accessible from the devices that the moogles give every new person that arrives in the world. All first-person posts will go here, as well as action logs. Detailed information of what can go in this community can be found in the community's profile.
- tidesout - This is the OOC community! All intros/drops, hiatuses, plotting posts, and out of character mod announcements will be found here.
✖ Use proper language when posting to MoogleNET / Logs This rule has two parts. The first: refrain from using NETSPEAK. This includes terms like "lol" and "wtf", but also emoticon use. We understand that it's normal for tech-savvy characters to add a :) in an email message, so we will be a little lenient in certain cases. But we would greatly prefer netspeak kept out of the game ICly.
The second: characters speak ENGLISH. Unless your character is of a distinctly different race (i.e. Wutaian, Al-Bhed, etc), English is the main language for this game. Just because Final Fantasy came from Japan does not mean that they call their friends "Zack-chan."
