(no subject)
well ive been back since the 14th. and its been great...lots of changes. i saw i love the 90's---and i just have to say that they forgot a lot of way important things that make the 90's my faveorite decade. heres some of them:
tupac
the ska revival
leo (yes yes i know, but it was a huge thing in 1997-98)
the great fashion (herion chic was mentioned briefly..but that was it...hello what about the baggy pants phenomenon, not to mention knee socks, vinyl anything for the ladies, and platform shoes...cat eye sunglasses...you know the ones i wear...what else...the flare jeans that came back in 96....oh god i mean lots of great great clothes.....)
the failed to mention the "black hole sun" video (one of my all time faves)
and what about sublime!!???
mariah wasnt mentioned. (i mean "fantasy" and "vision of love" are 2 amazing songs of that time)
ok so basically....i feel like they mentioned stuff that happened...but didnt give you anything to really get a good feel of the time. like they gave you music examples that were all sort of bland compared to other stuff...what about bone thugs????!)
kelsey just brought up a great point---no one ever talked about beavis and butthead---i mean anyone who lived in the 90's knows that that was a big part of life. well it was in my life.
come to think of it...nirvana was mentioned...but so briefly that i couldnt beleive it.
AND furthermore---what about the smashing pumpkins??! i feel like the things they mentioned were all things that 30 year olds could have possibly related to....i mean people who were 30 in the 90's. damn.
now thats what i call a BUZZKILL!!!
oh by the way---i stopped drinking and doing drugs. (i yuked on the plane coming home from germany....i had tons of vodka at 10:30 in the morning....so im so done.....)
